Who we are

L Wilson Digital & Security Ltd (company number 11645143, registered in England & Wales) is a family-run CCTV, alarm and digital TV installer based in Fleetwood, covering the Fylde Coast & Lancashire. We are the data controller for the information described on this page. If you have a question about any of it, call us on 07539 369857 or use the contact form.

What we collect, and why

Enquiries. When you use the contact form, ring us or message us, we receive what you give us: usually your name, a phone number or email address, and a description of what you need. We use it to answer you, arrange a free survey, quote for the work and carry it out if you go ahead. The legal basis is that these are steps you have asked us to take before entering a contract, together with our legitimate interest in replying to people who get in touch.

The assistant. The chat button opens an AI assistant that helps get your enquiry started. It is an AI, it says so, and Lee or the team always follows up personally. What you type is sent to Anthropic, who run the AI model on our behalf, and if the conversation turns into an enquiry the details are emailed to us in the same way a form submission is. Please do not type anything into it you would not put in an email.

The local crime checker. If you enter a postcode on one of our area pages, that postcode is sent to postcodes.io and to the Police open-data service to look up the published crime picture for that area. It is cached for a week so the page loads quickly for the next person, and it is not linked to you or kept as a record of your visit.

Website analytics. If you accept the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful and how they reached the site, so we can improve it. It runs only with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time in the cookies section below.

Who handles it for us

These companies process data on our behalf, under their own contracts and security commitments:

• Cloudflare hosts this website and passes your enquiry to us.
• Resend delivers enquiries to our inbox as email.
• Anthropic runs the AI model behind the assistant.
• INKON, the studio that built and maintains this website, has access to the site's systems in order to support it, and holds a copy of website enquiries for 90 days so nothing is lost if an email goes astray.
• Google serves the fonts this site uses, and provides the analytics described above only if you accept it.

We do not sell your details, and we do not share them with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and then for as long as our business records require. The INKON copy is deleted after 90 days. Analytics data is held by Google under their own retention settings and does not identify you by name.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Google Analytics cookies are set only after you click Accept on the banner, and nothing analytics-related loads before that. Your choice is remembered in your browser, not on our systems.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Call 07539 369857 or use the contact form and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
